Beginning
All accessories that require reprocessing may be treated with K-LLER®, without any prior preparation other than washing, following the instructions for that purpose; unless otherwise stated.
Disinfection of electrical units
Place the switch in the "off" or off position.
Unplug or unplug the power cord, taking care to do so from the connector. Do not pull it from the cable.
Let the unit cool down to room temperature.
Remove dust or dirt from its surface, using a soft cloth. If the unit is very dirty, use a damp cloth.
Once clean, soak a clean cloth with K-LLER® and wipe the entire surface of the unit.
Let it act for 5 minutes.
Dry it very well, to avoid risk of electric shock.
Handle with aseptic techniques.
Preparation for decontamination at place of use
Separate disposable items from non-disposable items.
Tear up and discard disposable items.
Dispose of waste according to the regulations for the disposal of biohazard materials of your institution.
If necessary, disinfect them before removing by soaking them in K-LLER® solution for 30 minutes.
Articles of various uses
Using a clean cloth moistened with K-LLER®, remove debris from the parts of the instruments that are inserted into the patient.
Disassemble the instruments.
Using a clean cloth moistened with K-LLER®, clean the active parts of the HF electrodes and the jaws of the unipolar and bipolar forceps.
Remove the sealing plugs.
Open all stopcocks.
Separate the optics from the other instruments.
Transport of reusable items
Transport reusable items from the place where they have been used to the decontamination or safe area. For this, the instruments can be dry or submerged in K-LLER®.
Put the articles in a covered container to transport them and thus avoid environmental contamination or personnel. If the instruments are placed in a container while dry, make sure that the remains do not dry out.
Close the lid of the container.
Carry out washing within a maximum period of 3 hours after using the instruments.
If the instruments are immersed in liquid, clean them within 1 hour after use. Do not use physiological solution for immersion.
How to clean optical surfaces
Optical surfaces are those that are made up of: the objective lens of an optician, the eyepiece lens of an optician, the connection for the light guide cable of an optician, the lens of the camera head, the lens of the adapter video, the light input surface of the light guide key plug that is connected to the light source, the light output surface of the light guide wire plug that is connected to the instrument.
Always clean the optics separately. Clean the optics separately from the other optics or from the other instruments. Make sure the optics are not touching each other.
Remove all adapters from the optic light guide cable connection.
Remove all adapters from the light guide wire.
If applicable, remove the eyepiece covers from the optics.
Clean the optical surfaces with a cotton pad soaked in K-LLER®.
In case of using automatic instrument washing machines, follow the manufacturer's instructions.
The viricidal (hepatitis B virus and V.I.H.), bactericidal, mycobacterial and sporicidal properties make K-LLER® the ideal product for the proper reprocessing of flexible endoscopes.
Process
Always clean the optics separately. Clean the optics separately from the other optics or from the other instruments. Make sure the optics are not touching each other.
Remove all adapters from the optic light guide cable connection.
Remove all adapters from the light guide wire.
If applicable, remove the eyepiece covers from the optics.
Clean the optical surfaces with a cotton pad soaked in K-LLER®.
Disassemble the instrument.
Open the stopcocks.
In a clean and dry container of sufficient capacity, empty K-LLER® with a volume according to the amount of material to be disinfected-sterilized.
Place each piece of the instrument in the sieve container.
Insert the sieved container into the disinfection tank with K-LLER®.
Check if all parts are completely submerged in K-LLER®. Make sure no air bubbles come out next to the instrument.
Let K-LLER® work for the time recommended on the label, according to the level of sterilization-disinfection required.
To remove the instruments, use transport forceps with rubber jaws, through the main body, using aseptic techniques.
No rinsing is required. K-LLER® is not toxic or corrosive to instrument components.
Dry the instruments with sterile cloths or compresses.
Use the instruments immediately after disinfection. Do not store disinfected instruments.
K-LLER® can be used safely as it does not affect the constituent materials of the endoscopes: elastomers such as rubbers, polyolefins, metals such as aluminum, chromium, steel, glass, polymethylmethacrylate or polycarbonate optical materials.
Disassemble instruments immediately after use.
Open all stopcocks.
Thoroughly rinse all instrument parts with cold water.
Start washing the instruments with the appropriate soap available for it.
To clean the interior parts, use high-pressure water with the appropriate nozzles for the different diameters of the cleaning pipes, brushes and wires, according to the manufacturer's instructions. When cleaning narrow lumen instruments, it may happen that water or detergent does not pass through the internal lumen. Always flush narrow lumen instruments by connecting them to a hose, syringe, or cleaning gun. The water that comes out of the cleaning gun may contain infectious agents. To prevent water from splashing, always clean with the instrument and gun submerged in water.
Carry out cleaning until all residues have been completely removed.
After washing the instruments, rinse them with deionized water. Do not use tap water because it may contain chlorine and be contaminated.
Do not leave the instruments submerged in liquid for more than 60 minutes.
Let all the pieces drain.
